Boxing Day 2009

Little Egypt Begin The Day

26 December 2009

As is traditional, we gathered at the Squire's house where Carol had provided some fine food and Neville some fine ale - including Nethergate's Umble Magna: a popular choice with the men - let's have another one.

The next of many

On the dot of 1.09 p.m. official proceedings were launched with the Three Toasts, one to Absent Friends, the next to the Hoingker and the last to Little Egypt.

Time to go, methinks.

Then we processed to the Angel Inn, led by our fine musicians and delaying the Glemsford traffic by a good ten minutes. Nobody complained, hooted their car horn or even revved their engine in a menacing way. Indeed the whole procession was met by good natured smiles and waves.

Farewell, Tye Green  Farewell, Drapery Common
Farewell, Flax Lane  Right Wheel! - we've arrived.

At least I think that's what they were doing.
