Little Egypt's Boxing Day - 2008

Part of the Tradition - The Muster

Boxing Day 2008

and in a break with a very long standing tradition we were dancing not at the Black Lion (under new management for the third time in a year) but Glemsford's wonderful Angel Inn.

This was the first time we had danced away from the Lion since 1999, when we took refuge in the late- and much-lamented White Hart, Stanstead.

The "trip" to The Angel meant a lengthy Winster Procession on what was probably the coldest December 26 in many years.

The men warmed up at Neville's place, enjoying Carol's sausages and Squire's mull and beer before gathering at Tye Green at 1.30 p.m., in order to arrive bang on the advertised time of 1 p.m. at the Angel.
In training  That's the exact point at which I had to let go with my teeth
A question of ...  ... which is which?
Did you hear the one about Sarah Palin's daughter and the moose?  No, but don't tell it in front of Bob.
If we stand here playing long enough, they might start moving.  Welcome one, welcome all: mine's a pork and leek.
The central spirit of the Morris
