Little Egypt
Boxing Day 2011

What we came for:
Little Egypt at Dance

We got there in the end

The plan was to set off for the Angel at 1 p.m. but of course there was slippage and once the traditional toasts had been made it was nearer 1.30 when we started the Winster Procession through the thronged streets of Glemsford.

The cheering was deafening, the flag waving exuberant and the motorists most undertanding as we threaded our way towards our destination.

Or maybe not,

but there was a decent crowd skulking under Kevin's new awning all ready to greet us.

The dancing was vigorous, the band melodious and the audience very enthusiastic.

In your own time lads  No after you squire
They're not listening, you know  That's it, lads, show 'em your best side
Oncce more, with feeling  If anyone says I'm on the fiddle, just once more, this bow'll go where it wasn't meant to
I am enthusiastic too  Then smile you bugger
Oh, blow it

Cecil B De Thomson was on hand with his camera on a stick to make a motion picture record of the day which he assures us will be ready within the year.

You can alo get poles twice this length - 2 metres
